Juan Luque born 1964, Montilla, Spain. Juan Luque received his BA & MA at the Fine Arts University of Seville, 1989. That same year he was awarded the ‘El Paular’ Grant in Painting, Segovia, Spain. Luque is fascinated with the textures and the treatment of light which represents the violent force of nature in the open sea when it encounters the straight, imperturbable, solitary lighthouses. He has twice won the Medal of painting, the BMW Awards, Madird, Spain and the first prize, Focus Awards, Sevilla, Spain.
