Coro López-Izquierdo graduated as an architect in 1983. She now divides her time between lecturing at the Madrid School of Technical Architecture and painting.
Coro was acclaimed as a Distinguished Architect for Outstanding Work in the Fine Arts in the XIth, XIIth, XIVth and XVth Edition of ‘Fine Arts by Architects’, the annual contest organized by the Madrid Architects Professional Association.
Coro comes from a family of artists and began drawing at a young age. Her work displays immense technical skill and is the result of careful observation of each detail, painted to perfection. Coro draws directly on to the canvas, inspired by her sketches and studies. Capable of seeing the beauty in everyday life, she manages to capture and express it through line and colour. Her exquisite attention to detail does not exempt her from creation, bringing to the picture what reality lacks and our imagination would have wished were there. She has won numerous drawing and painting contests.
Coro's deep knowledge of painting and architecture, as well as the exquisite detail and quality of her work, render her a favourite amongst collectors. Her work can be found in many of the top Spanish and foreign private and public collections including the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid. In 2007 Coro was awarded Honourable Mention, BMW Paintings Competition, Spain.
